Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Helpful tool!!! This tool makes a day of cutting firewood a whole lot easier. I was able to move good sized logs around very easily. Once we coupled the Can't Hook with a Stihl Log lifter it became two tools in one. I would recommend this tool for any one cutting a substantial amount of wood. It will save your back for sure!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy add on sale Every Stihl Dealer needs to have these in stock. Buy one of these and add the log stand. Perfect for jacking a log up off the ground to buck up into fire wood. The main purpose is to keep your bar and chain out of the dirt which keeps your chain sharp longer and doesnt wear out your back as fast. Anyone who uses a chain saw for felling trees needs one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cant hook, hands down Learned of this new style cant hook through the Forestry Forum, and had my Stihl dealer (Niendorf Enterprises) get me one. Threw out the wood handled ones I had when I found out how much better the log and cant grab was with this new one.Not just for cants or timbers, but for logs as well. When felling a tree, there are times when the cant hook is used to just roll the tree to get it to release and fall off the stump. Invaluable tool along with my Stihl saws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leverage power I have had a 60" can't hook for about ten years. Though I don't use it every time I cut it is still a very important piece of equipment. With this tool I can roll, pivot and relocate logs of great weight with minimal effort. I also purchased the log stand attachment at the same time. The main body of the cant hook is tubular aluminum with a dense foam grip that extends down the shaft about 15". Both the large and small hooks are made of steel. The cant is threaded into a nut that has been welded into the end of the shaft. The larger log hook is bolted to a bracket that has been welded to the shaft. So either hook could be replaced if the need would arise.I have firmly grabbed logs over 30" in diameter and repositioned them so that I could cut for firewood. I have used the cant hook to roll 20' logs that I cut partially from the top so that I might finish the cut without hitting the ground. This is where the log stand comes into play. With it bolted on I will grab a log towards the middle and roll it onto the stand in order to cut off rounds without damaging the chain.Another quality product marketed by Stihl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It did what I asked of it I fairly recently moved to a house with a wood burning fireplace and wanted to get into supplying myself with firewood. I found a good source and was lead to a large tree (to me (about 35" dia)) that fell about 2 years ago. I started out with an older Poulan that I had... well that's another story. Anyway, I'm not a professional and the large diameter was a bit daunting to cut rounds out of. Searched the internet and found out about Peavey's and Cants and decided that that is what I needed. I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money but just couldn't bring myself to buy the ones I found in a local farm store (generally rated for 12" Dia). I found two highly recommended cants - one from Logrite and Stihl. They seemed to be the same thing. Since I was heading to the local Stihl Dealer for some equipment anyway and I figured it was easier for any warranty issues and repairs, I bought one. IT PERFORMED AWESOME! I'm very happy with this product. Good confidence builder. I was even pulling out some 10" dia X 6' long logs that were half sunk in the ground fairly easily. I'm am now thinking about the lifter attachment.
